Since 1930, The Ivy Tower has been a recognizable building amidst the skyline of downtown Minneapolis. When it was first developed, however, The Ivy Tower was supposed to be an office building. Its design was not conducive to offices and business, though. As a result, the building was almost torn down. The Starwood Corporation jumped in and saved the structure and made many renovations to it in order to make it into a multi-functional building with both living spaces and hotel units. For residents, living spaces range from 900 square feet to over 3,000 square feet. The downtown skyway also connects to The Ivy Hotel and Residence for traveling back and forth between buildings in the area. In addition, The Ivy offers a wellness center, a sophisticated spa and a “destination restaurant” for convenience and elite living.
